Hi there! We are glad you have found the web home for Common Threads Yarn Shop. Common Threads Yarn Shop is a local yarn shop with supplies for knitters and crocheters located in downtown High Point, NC. The shop was opened in November 2006 by a fiber lover who had gotten tired of driving to distant cities for high-quality yarn and supplies. After much praying and soul searching she decided that she was being led to open a local yarn shop for High Point and the surrounding communities and Common Threads was born. We have recently moved to a new renovated location at 1101 North Main Suite 201. And it is near Krispy Kreme. (No more getting lost on Welborn Street ).  We can’t wait to see you! Our Shop Hours Are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10 am – 5 pm Thursday 2 pm – 8 pm (for all of our working knitters and crocheters) Saturday 10 am – 3 pm Closed on Sunday and Monday

  1. I thought you were moving to a larger space. Where is it and when are you moving? I want to tell all my friends.

    • Ricki,
The space won’t be larger but it will be on N Main St. We will be moving to a space located at 1101 N Main st #201. We hope to see you there.

  2. Lorie,
We are in the process of moving to a new space at 1101 N Main St. And will be posting new classes in the next few weeks. We would love to have you visit us at the shop and learn about knitting or crochet. See you there!

  3. Have you moved into the new location yet? If so, is there a phone number where you can be reached? I have been a crocheter for many years and just recently have tried my hand at knitting. I know how to knit; I just don’t know what to do when I drop a stitch (which I always do at some point) and then my project never comes to fruition. I would love to join in one your open knit nights to get some pointers and join in the fellowship. So, again, just wondering if you were in your new place yet so that I can participate. Thanks so much, Tracy Lacivita

    • Tracy,
We just re-opened in our new location yesterday, June 10th. Please stop by the shop anytime we are open or if it is easier to come after 5 pm then join us on either Monday nights from 6:30 – 8:30 pm or Thursday nights from 6 – 8 pm. We would love to have you join us!

  4. Margaret,
Thanks for the post. We would love to have a fellow fiber “nut” join us on either Monday nights for open crochet or Thursday nights for open knit. We allow all needle arts at either night so you are welcome to knit or crochet to your hearts content. We look forward to meeting you and having you join us!
