Hi there! We are glad you have found the web home for Common Threads Yarn Shop. Common Threads Yarn Shop is a local yarn shop with supplies for knitters and crocheters located in downtown High Point, NC.

Our Regular Shop Hours Are:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10 am – 5 pm
Thursday 2 pm – 8 pm (for all of our working knitters and crocheters)
Saturday 10 am – 3 pm

Closed all day on Sunday and during the day on Monday

Open Knit and Crochet Nights – Everyone Welcome . . . No Reservations Required and No Charge
Monday nights from 6:30 – 8:30 pm

The shop was opened in November 2006 by a fiber lover who had gotten tired of driving to distant cities for high-quality yarn and supplies. After much praying and soul searching she decided that she was being led to open a local yarn shop for High Point and the surrounding communities and Common Threads was born. We have recently moved to a new location at 1101 North Main Suite 201. Visit us and check out our new location!

  2. Hi, Hazel here. I stopped last Thursday on my way back from Salisbury…..what is the name of that lovely scarf you showed me that is made out of several colors of the cotton yarn, and has different stitch patterns?
I started on the Sallie Melvile top- I like the way the Remix works up.

    Thanks
    Hazel

    • Hazel,
Thanks for the message. It was great to meet and talk to you Thursday night. The multi-colored cotton scarf you saw is called the Road Map Scarf. We will have a class on this scarf beginning this coming Thursday June 11, 2015 from 6 – 8 pm. The class will run every Thursday from 6 – 8 from June 11 until July 9. If you aren’t able to make it for a night or two we can work with your schedule and get you the help you need. Just e-mail Judy at drjbateman98 (at) gmail.com. or call the shop at 336-889-8650.
      Blessings,
      Peggy and Judy

  3. So glad you keep sending me notices. I really want to get back to knitting and to try my hand at crochet. For being retired, I’ve never been so busy! Keep me on your mailing list. Thanks.

    • Roberta,
We hope you will get a chance to visit us some time in the future. If you would like to learn crochet we have a fabulous teacher in Wendi Cusins and she is happy to schedule a class that works around your schedule. Of course, if knitting is your favorite then Judy is here at the shop and also does private lessons that work with your schedule. In any case please feel free to stop by the shop any time we are open to catch your breath or just knit a few stitches. We would love to see you!
      Blessings,
      Peggy and Judy

  4. I was trying to comment on the blog, but cannot find a place to do that – you know for a square on my “YARNS” card!! I had fun on Monday night when I stopped in!! I saw some old friends and met some new ones.

    • Diane,
It was great to see you and we’re thrilled that you enjoy the Yarns card. Thanks for the post of Ravelry.
We hope it’s not too long before we can visit again with you.
      Blessings,
      Peggy and Judy
